Orange Dinosaur

J, 23, New York.

This is what I may or may not look like

I occasionally write poetry and/or prose if you're into that.

I was diagnosed with ADHD some time around 6-8 years of age and have lived with it ever since. I post random short or long posts about ADHD and my experiences with it. If you're into that sort of stuff

I also wrote about people I know, but to preserve some semblance of privacy, I only tag them by the first letter of their first name, nickname or in some cases last name. If you think I've written about you, check the tags for your letter.

This blog doesn't really have a direction or point to it, particularly, anymore. Right now I just post whatever because whatever for whatever and I don't really care, have had no clear impetus, to decide where to go with it. So yeah...

All Poems and Prose pieces are my own writing unless otherwise stated.

Day two of my experiment, ran 2+ miles approx. calisthenics and had total two 6” ham subs from subway all day for sustenance.

Ran what I estimate to be 2 miles today (accurate lower bound estimate using math. Look, kids, it’s useful for stuff #totalnerdstatus).

A good warm up; I haven’t done any exercise since April.

Feels good, man! :)

"You’re going to discover that conversations are best at 4am. The heavier the eyelids, the sincerer the words. Those are the talks you’ll remember. It’s ok not to know the answer and silence is not awkward. It’s shared, so share it more often than not."

There is so little going on with my life at the moment…

#I hate this.

Lunch was a tomato, a can of sliced carrots and five croutons.

Dinner was a tomato, a can of sliced carrots and a bite’s-worth of bread. Maybe I’ll complement that with some ramen later.

I’m doing this on purpose.

Not as a diet to lose weight.

Just to see if I can do it and how it goes.

This will go until Friday.

I went to see Battleship, The Movie

For a movie based off of a Hasbro table-top game, Battleship is not as painful as it could’ve been.

It’s simple, one-dimensional and has as many plotholes as non-professional-actors (which they say they did on purpose, using real navy sailors in some scenes to get the parlance right).

It’s not meant to be judged in the same light as Citizen Kane, The Seventh seal, or even The Dark Knight and/or Star Wars.

Doing so is stupid and makes you the butt of the joke. Not ll movies are created equal and some are so on purpose. This movie is about blowing shit up and being entertained and it succeeds t the latter if you enjoy the former. If you don’t, you’re an idiot for going to watch it: it did not, t any point in it’s marketing, attempt to deceive you into thinking any differently of it.

I had fun, plot was generic but mildly interesting (a sequel could make it worthwile if properly explored) and it had prettier explosions than any Michael Bay movie.

I went to see it knowing what it offered and it did not impress or disappoint in this regard. I had fun. What I set out for.

And that’s all there is to it.

#They actually do make a non-retarded but also completely exaggeratedly improbable homage to the dynamics of the Battleship game.

Top Gun was on TV earlier so now Ive got Highway To the Danger Zone and Take My Breath Away stuck in my head. They keep fading into each other, it’s out of my control

Rewatching a ful playthrough of Final Fantasy X-2 on youtube.

Care to join?

If you haaven’t played or seen Final Fantasy X first, I suggest you go watch/play it before this. So go do that.

Now.

I heard there’s a The Great Gatsby movie coming out.

I read the book. I actually forced myself to read and finish it.

It’s a good book, a good story and a very well written piece.

It’s good, jut not special to me… I forced myself to finish it because I just could not find any interest in any situation character, point or nuance of it at all… I just didn’t care and I kept going to find maybe that one defining moment, that one scene so special it could undo the very fabric of my being, that one “tears in the rain” moment a la Blade Runner that would rend me asunder and ingrain itself into my skull with worth, meaning and depth and emotion but it didn’t.

I read The Great Gatsby and felt nothing.

Well, that’s a lie and exaggeration, I felt some things — and the imagery of the green light across the river or whatever Gatsby looked at (the depiction of it and it’s significance) is gorgeous. But I heard people talk of Shakespeare and I read cool story bro.

By no means bad.

Just don’t feel where the literary boner’s coming from from all these people…Maybe it’s one of these books you need to read in class to have a high school teacher tell you what you should’ve caught? Or maybe it’s only special if you lived in NY or have an appreciation for the Roaring 20’s? (I despise any period in US history set before the 70’s).

I just don’t get it.

It’s a good book. Maybe even great.

Just not that great…

And as for the movie. Meh…
